The crossover officially starts now – with the first DC-based NFT / Trading cards hybrid ever.

Using the Hro app, a new platform that combines the physical and digital world, fans will be able to unlock the DC Multiverse and collect, trade and buy the first ever DC-based hybrid NFT trading cards featuring their favourite DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains.

Here we have the 1st video from Reputation Ace about the new NFT and trading card hybrid platform – HRO is an app that allows you to mint your trading cards as NFTs by scanning the QR Code on the back. You can then trade them, sell them, and earn points in the app to progress through the stages and build your collection. You can buy these hybrid NFT trading cards from zavvi.co.uk and game.co.uk – the pre order is closed in the US but there is still some available in the UK.

HRO NFT trading cards will also be available for general purchase in shops like Game and WH Smith on the high street. Look out for these from April onwards as I believe these are huge step in the adoption of NFTs, because trading cards are extremely popular with collectors and kids, and these are starting with DC Comics so the brands and licences are huge.

There is a lot of potential for these collectors to cross over to NFTS, and have some real life utility. For example the opportunity to mint these on the block chain means that they cannot be faked as this is a problem in standard trading cards. Having a recorded certificate of authenticity on the blockchain is a real life use case for NFTS. This provides a lot of opportunity in collecting and in crypto and is another step to mainstream adoption of blockchain technology.

Beginning with the first DC-based hybrid NFT trading cards, Hro will give fans the opportunity to own a physical trading card with an NFT component, combining blockchain technology with physical in-store presence for the first time. Using NFTs minted on Immutable X, an Ethereum-based carbon-neutral Layer2 blockchain, DC Hybrid Trading Cards by Hro hit shelves and digital wallets in March, with additional and limited-edition content rolling-out throughout the year.
